Model Joan Small’ Fashion Week Runway Look

This look was done by James Kaliardos.

Joan Small has walked in numerous runway shows during the 2011 New York Fashion Week. Joans’ make up look in the Rodarte runway show has a lot of people “ohing” and “awing”. This looked was inspired by by Vincent Van Gogh’s painting “Starry Night”. This look incorporates dark blues, grays and blacks. A very intense smoldering eye.

James Kaliardos’ gave hellobeautiful.com a couple of tips for pulling off this look.

"The chubby NARS Soft Touch Shadow Pencil in Dark Right (a metallic blue-gray) was spread all over the lid, high above the crease, and underneath the lower lashes.
Over that, NARS Eyeshadow in Night Flight was applied; it’s a blue that is so dark it borders on black and that has finely-milled flecks of silver shimmer.
And to bring to life the sparkling element of the painting, the lids were topped with the NARSEyeshadow in Tropic, a turquoise shade with large chunky silver glitter.
To keep the models’ eyes from getting lost in all the dark colors, the inner rims of their eyes were lined with beige liner, and coated only the top lashes in mascara."
